Small businesses are the backbone of America and Black Women play a significant role in making this country great. Over the last few decades, Black Women have seen the greatest increase in startup businesses amongst all demographics. In fact, in 2015, Black Women-Owned Businesses increased by 322%. This equates to about 311 new Black Women-Owned Businesses opened daily. Despite the great strides Black Women are making in businesses, they’re not seeing the financial gains. The average annual revenue for a Black Woman Owned Business is $25,550. That’s lowest amongst all demographic groups. Put into perspective, the average annual revenue amongst all women is $143,431.
